We were made very welcome by Liz and Martin, and even their pet sheep was friendly. They were happy for us to bring our small dog. The dining and lounge space was spacious, the bed comfortable, and everything was very clean. It was lovely to have a fire already made up on a cold morning. Recommend 😊

Last summer it was quiet and cosy, and I felt at home there. The owners were so friendly: they helped me look for work around Methven and even gave me a discount. It might not be as quiet in winter.

Liz was a really friendly host and suggested things to see nearby. We stayed here the night before driving to Arthur's pass. The room had a luxury bed, TV, shower and toilet, and the whole place was clean and organised. Free unlimited WiFi too. I highly recommend it :)

A clean, convenient stop if you're heading toward mt somers or down to the gorge. The friendly woman there makes amazing berry preserve for breakfast. The sheep does look awfully lonely, though. It needs a friend.

We had a great time with Liz & Martin. The lodge is comfortable, clean, well equipped and fun. We stayed one night as a big family group, then shared the place with other guests another time. Would happily come back.
