We waited 53 minutes for the food, and the chips were cold, very oily, and basically just crispy bits from the bottom of the bag. They were almost inedible. The pepperoni pizza was more like a cheese pizza and wasn't nice either. We're not usually people who complain, but my husband did tell the waiter about the cold chips. I'd come back for a beer, but definitely not for food.

Dylan was a truly great host, and we always enjoy coming to the Blue Pub. I was sad to see the baked brie and corn ribs gone from the menu, though. I've been craving them for months! Still, that won't stop us coming back.

The staff were friendly and knew the menu well. I asked to swap the chips and two salads for the Greek salad because I'm carb intolerant. The food was fabulous, with big portions. The Greek salad was the best, and the sirloin was tender and cooked just as requested. Even the coffee was good.

The food and the service were good, and the staff inside were lovely. But the bouncer turned away people in their 30s to 50s for not having ID, even when they showed a picture of it. We'd had no trouble entering the other pubs in town after being refused at the Blue Pub. If you can get in, it's great, but this put us off recommending it. They need to replace the bouncer and review the ID policy.

The garden bar is great, with a fair choice of beer. Portions are huge, though the food isn't exactly fine dining. The beef and lamb were cooked nicely. The young staff seemed inexperienced and unsure what they were doing.
