Albatross Motel

We stayed at this motel from 1-4th January and found a bed bug in Room 25. One person in our group was badly bitten. The way management dealt with it left us extremely disappointed. We were made to feel as if we were overreacting, the discussion got heated and unprofessional, and no apology was offered. The manager refused a full refund and at first offered only a small partial one, despite the seriousness of bed bugs and the precautions guests need to take afterward to avoid bringing them home. When we raised the issue, the manager said “not again.” We later learned there had been previous bed bug issues in that same room, yet guests were still being placed there. That seriously undermined our confidence that it was being handled responsibly. The manager also said that because the bug was discovered on checkout day, it hadn’t been an issue on earlier nights, which showed a concerning lack of understanding of how bed bugs work. After a long, stressful dispute, we got a partial refund of $400 out of $600, but it felt more like a fight than a resolution. I wouldn’t be posting this if I trusted that the situation was being dealt with responsibly. I’m sharing our experience so future guests can make an informed decision. I expect Glen to respond unkindly to this review, but as we discussed, this review should be expected.
