For what we paid and where it is, I’d happily stay here again. The room’s definitely dated, but the bed was super comfortable, the air con worked really well, and the shower pressure was great. We’d booked early for Art Deco weekend with fairly low expectations based on the price and reviews, so we were pleasantly surprised. We’ve already booked for the next Art Deco weekend.

Getting into the room took just five minutes, even though we arrived two hours early, and the service was great. Parking was ready to use and the location is fantastic. The room was re-equipped overnight. I did notice some minor damage in both the bedroom and bathroom that looked like it had been there a while. Still good value, especially since we booked well ahead for Art Deco weekend.

The in-room spa is magnificent, and the rooms are nice and spacious. The problem is getting hold of reception. Calls are a real mission: some of the numbers listed online don’t work, and the ones that do send you through the IVR, where you wait for minutes before reaching voicemail. The front desk needs to do something about it.

You can get to the beach in moments from Beach Front Motel, and the ocean views are lovely. We also liked having cafes, restaurants and attractions nearby. Our room was roomy and cozy, and the private balcony was a nice spot for coffee or wine, watching the New Years Eve fireworks and the seaside sunsets. The staff were really friendly and made us feel at home. A relaxing, convenient place to stay in Napier.

A lovely spot to unwind, with a perfect view and just a short walk into town. Our room was clean and nice, and the housekeepers were so friendly and amazing. We loved our stay.
