Art Deco Masonic Hotel

Our suite had a balcony and a lovely view, with a perfect location. The Art Deco style felt special. Breakfast was good, though the bathroom was old and not as clean as it could have been.

We had dinner at the adjoining Irish Bar, and breakfast at the hotel’s front cafe/bar was made to order from a menu. It was very nice, probably the best breakfast we’d had in our first week in New Zealand. The hotel is across from the oceanfront and ideally placed for the town centre. Parking was in a leased lot a few streets away, though we could use the loading bay to load and unload luggage. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom and walk-in shower. It was a little small but adequate for one night. The room opened onto a shared terrace, which we didn’t use, and there was no other view. There was no in-room safe. It’s a lovely period building, and service at check-in was excellent. If I visit Napier again, I’d probably stay at the Art Deco again.

The room was compact but comfortable, with decor that suited the Art Deco style. It was well appointed, and we had easy access to a lovely veranda overlooking the sea. The hotel sits right on the oceanfront, and everyone was incredibly friendly. We’d thoroughly recommend it for Napier.

Very central, with plenty of places to eat nearby, both casual and more formal. The hotel is a great choice in Napier, and it’s very Art Deco as soon as you see the front door. Staff were especially helpful when I needed to sign and scan some documents.
