Motel de la Mer

We came to Napier for a conference and the place exceeded what we expected. Our room was spacious and spotless, in a handy location close to everything while still quiet and relaxing. Julian was incredibly helpful with suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We liked having the choice to cook in our room or go out for a meal. We stayed three nights, and the room was beautifully cleaned each day. The beds were super comfortable, and on the rainy day we were happy to relax in the room. You get a lot for such an awesome place. Thanks again for the kindness and hospitality, Julian!

The owners were so kind to move us into a wheelchair access room and reserve a parking space beside it for my mum. The room was very spacious and spotless, with a big, comfortable bed and generous towels. The staff were friendly and kind too. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

Julian at the front desk made our stay. He was full of useful suggestions, incredibly helpful, and clearly cared about how we were getting on. We loved our top-floor suite, especially the thoughtful touches that made it comfortable and convenient. Most rooms look out over the ocean, and Napier itself has a lovely seaside path and some striking Art Deco buildings. Motel de la Mer is a real find. Highly recommend it.

We felt right at home here, with a peaceful coastal feel and welcoming staff. The room was quiet, spotless, and comfortable, with what we needed to relax. It didn’t have a spa bath, but that didn’t spoil the cozy atmosphere. The beach is just across the road, and cafes, shops, and central Napier are an easy walk away. I’d happily come back to Motel de la Mer, a solid 9.5/10 for me.
