We got there a little early, so we went up to the library first. The décor and atmosphere were stunning. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed warmly and treated like royalty. We were then shown to our table, and the service was flawless throughout. The food was spectacular, and every detail felt carefully handled. We were celebrating a special friend's 50th during Art Deco weekend, which made it even more memorable. Highly recommend, it was an exceptional experience all around.

The place itself looked stunning and had the perfect feel for a relaxed, elegant Deco experience. We felt thoroughly spoiled and left happy after a wonderful high tea over Art Deco weekend. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service went above and beyond. Even with the weekend crowds, every staff member made us feel welcome and at ease. Some of us even had our napkins put over our knees! It was an ideal way to celebrate, and we'll definitely be back, maybe for a night or two next time, as a staycation.

I was lucky to have brunch at the County Hotel Napier on Saturday 21st February, at the 11.30 sitting. The food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. A special thank you to Anglia, who went out of her way to find space at our table for a special friend who had arrived from out of Napier. The other team members helped put together a wonderful weekend experience too. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for its outstanding hospitality, especially Anglia. So amazing.

The hotel's location is good, but it could do with smartening up. The rooms are average, and the rough grey towels have clearly seen better days. This isn't a five-star hotel. We were told there was no breakfast, then found it laid out on our first morning. When we asked, we were told it was only for people on 'packages', with no further explanation or option to buy it. Luckily there are plenty of better places to eat nearby.

The staff were excellent, and the location in Napier is terrific. You can walk to the beach, bars and restaurants, and there's handy parking across the road. We didn't get to try the dining facilities, but the atmosphere looked very good. The room was good, though the shower room ceiling is low enough that anyone over 6 footwear will need to duck. There was no mirror in the bedroom either.
