Naseby Trail Lodge

Our large group could gather comfortably in the cabins’ living rooms, and the rooms were spotless and nicely decorated. This was our second stay at Naseby Lodge, and it lived up to our first visit. On a horribly wet, cold night, the hosts made sure we had everything we needed and gave us such wonderful hospitality. When we couldn’t leave Naseby, they even found room for us for another night.

The flooding meant an extra night in Naseby, and another dinner at the excellent Royal Hotel was a welcome bonus, though sadly the rest of our ride was washed out. We were a family group of 11 cycling the rail trail in the wettest weather imaginable, and the spacious, well appointed accommodation and heaters were just what we needed. The staff gave us a warm welcome. After I fell off my bike, the local doctor came to assess my injuries in our room. I was even offered Tash’s mum’s car to get to the pub, which was so kind. A real country experience, and highly recommended accommodation.

The bathroom had heated tile flooring and a great shower, and it was an easy 3 minute walk to the Royal Hotel for good food. Our 2 bedroom unit was warm and had everything we needed, with loads of space for 4 adults and 2 children. We had a great stay and highly recommend it.

When our shuttle didn’t show, the proprietor kindly drove us back to Ranfurly. The hosts were the friendliest and most helpful we could have hoped for. Our room was comfortable and nicely furnished, and there was a great range of breakfast choices. Very highly recommended.
