Karel couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. When my daughter mentioned the local bird life, Karel came back with three magazines and marked the pages that would interest her. The suggestions for our day out were great, and we were very glad we followed them. Karel’s knowledge of the area and beyond helped us make the most of our visit. The three of us were warmly welcomed and shown to two spacious, beautifully furnished rooms. Both en suites were clean and had luxurious roll-top baths. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I had the best sleep since leaving home. Breakfast was delicious. Without a doubt, a great place to stay. Thank you, Karel.

The owners’ travel tips made the trip even more enjoyable, and breakfast was lovely, with a full range of freshly cooked options. The accommodation was lovely and spotlessly clean, and the hosts were friendly, welcoming and obliging. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The cooked breakfast was delicious, honestly cafe standard, and the mattress was so comfortable. Carol and David are super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy, with tasteful decor. It’s right in the CBD, but there wasn’t much traffic noise. A very lovely stay, highly recommended.

We paid $375 for one night, expecting a fun and amazing stay at Cambria house, but had a horrible experience with the owner. One of us was dealing with a family crisis and needed to leave early. While she stood in the rain, crying on the phone, the owner yelled at her, demanded to know why she was leaving and insisted she had a right to know where she was going. The other person was still staying in the room that night, but the owner yelled at her too, said it wasn’t okay for her to stay, and took the room key so we couldn’t get back in. The stay was so distressing that it took us a long time to write this review, but people deserve to know. I’d never recommend this accommodation and will keep telling this story for generations. Please don’t stay here.

The rooms were nice and the location was good, but breakfast was a letdown. The only cold option was cereal, plain yoghurt and chopped fruit. My husband found the eggs disappointing too: he had poached eggs one morning and fried the next, and both were a bit overcooked. We’ve stayed at three B&Bs on this tour so far, and compared with the others, this one ranks third.
