DeLorenzo's Studio Apartments

We stayed here on two separate nights, one before and one after our time in Abel Tasman national park. The rooms were excellent, the location was great, and reception couldn't have been more helpful. The restaurant at Tides hotel across the road, which is linked to the apartments, is well worth a visit.

What a fabulous motel. Phillipa (?) at reception got my Abel Tasman booking sorted out quickly. The room was great, and having a washer and dryer was fantastic. Town is within walking distance, and dinner at Tides was 10/10.

The kitchen and laundry were exceptionally well equipped, and I've rarely seen this level of provision elsewhere. Everything was fastidiously clean, with helpful, personable front-of-house staff and great communication. Shopping areas are an easy walk, and Souter is a manageable distance away. The management is beautiful. The decor is a little dated, but that's a minor quibble. One thing jarred: the room had a strong, synthetic deodoriser smell, like the scent used at second-hand car yards to mask a smoking owner, and I don't mean “hot.” It smelled cheap and nasty. Was it needed, or was it covering up broken rules? They urgently need to change the product.

The team did a great job. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and you can see the staff's eye for detail in the subtle, classy, comfortable touches. Reception was especially accommodating, and H.K deserves a mention for those room details. Just a minute's walk away, Tides Restaurant sits beside a crystal-clear river, with great food and drinks. This venue is only minutes from the CBD, so there's plenty of time to explore the city. For a night or a week in nelson, I highly recommend staying here. The price and service are well worth it and appreciated, and guests will take away great memories. Well done, Team DELORENZO'$ 👏 BRAVO.
