The facilities were excellent, with a great kitchen and very clean, private bathrooms where the shower and toilet are together. The shower had great pressure. Our powered site was sheltered by hedges on three sides, so it felt private, and the water view was incredible. The grounds were peaceful and well maintained, with a few cheeky pukeko around. We stayed a few days in early Jan 26, and this was the best campsite we’ve stayed at!

The one downside was the spa pool room lighting. It was bright enough to read by, even with sunglasses on and a towel over my head. But the Deluxe cabin is definitely worth the price and far better than the other rooms. Highly recommend it. If you go, you HAVE TO GO DELUXE!!

We loved our time at Belt Road and would happily return next time we’re in Taranaki. The campground has lovely ocean views, with the jetty and coastal walkway right on the doorstep. The amenities were functional and always clean and tidy. Our tent is huge, and after we booked a site that was too small, the Belt Road team quickly got in touch and went above and beyond to find one that fit our needs.

The holiday park has clean facilities and lovely views, so it made a great base for our holiday. Staff were friendly, check-in and check-out systems worked well, and safety was well handled. There was a nice family feel, with kids enjoying summer camping. You’ve got easy access to the coastal walkway, parks, pools, and beaches, so bring a bike and togs. New Plymouth has plenty of family activities too, including walks and beaches. The museum is free and modern for a rainy day, and the summer Festival of Lights at Pukekura Park is free as well. An amazing place to stay.

We came for my son’s 10th birthday and the TSB Festival of Lights, and enjoyed the hot tub during our stay. The staff were friendly and understanding. A small mix-up was sorted quickly, and it was no trouble when we asked to add another night. We’ll definitely be back for a longer visit. Thanks, team!
