What cost 180 per night turned into a nightmare in New Plymouth. The man started off pretending to be polite, then became extremely rude. He changed the heater to a tiny one and claimed the hot water couldn’t be used, but that obviously wasn’t true.

Peaceful and relaxing, and our hosts were attentive and friendly. A top-notch, elegant place to stay, perfect in every way. I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Friends, this place is a total rip-off. The hosts were extremely unfriendly, and it wasn’t worth even one star. We paid $180 a night, but there was no hot shower one rainy day when we got back soaked. They said the water facilities were broken. The first night, they only gave us a heater after we asked. The next day they replaced it with a much smaller one that couldn’t warm the room. When we complained, the host came into our room and spoke rudely and angrily, telling us, “Use your brain!” He then gave us a long list of ways to keep warm. I thought a bigger heater would solve the problem better than all that advice. Stay away from this place.

Breakfast was excellent, and the welcome and service were impeccable. The room was spacious and had its own balcony. This beautiful B&B is set in an old house with wood paneling and antique decor.
