I’ve stayed here three weekends on separate occasions, and it’s always been a good experience. The owner-operated place is quiet on a no-exit street, with very friendly owners. The units are spacious and regularly serviced, and the prices are reasonable. There’s Sky TV and unlimited wifi. It’s off the main highway, about a two-minute drive or five-minute walk to the town centre.

A lovely, well-equipped double room unit, and very comfortable. This little hidden gem also has pleasant reception. It’s a nice stroll to Pukekura Park. I’ll definitely stay again.

The good price and closeness to town made this a decent option, and I’d most likely stay again if travelling on a budget. The rooms were a good size and laid out nicely, with an outdoor table among pretty foliage. I also liked seeing the original features from the older building. The stay was pleasant overall. Cleanliness let things down. There was dried old food on the underside of the dinnerware and crumbs in the cupboards, which didn’t seem to meet proper hygiene standards. The shower door had exposed sharp glass along the bottom and dangerous edges that could easily cut skin. A dirty outline showed where rubber had once been. A bit more care, or a hired cleaner, would’ve made this a 4.8 experience. Not bad.

It was nice and quiet, and really close to a walking trail. Wish the weather had been better. The bathroom could use an update, but I enjoyed our short stay overall.

The staff are really welcoming, and it’s easy to find. We’ve stayed three times now, partly because it’s so close to the bowl and racetrack.
