New Plymouth Top 10 Holiday Park

Getting around was easy from here, with the city centre, parks, family attractions, shops, and everyday activities all accessible. The location was a real strength, and the service was great. The kids had fun in the pool and play area. A few things brought the stay down. We had to ask for fresh towels instead of having them provided the next day, and there was no milk with the tea and coffee. The bathroom hairdryer in Family needs checking and replacing. The kitchen facilities did the job, but could use some additions, like an air fryer, and an oven; the boiling jug seemed basic and could be upgraded. Streaming options such as Netflix or Freeview would also give families more to watch. With those issues addressed, we would have given a higher rating. Hopefully next visit.

We spent one off-season night in a deluxe cabin in a quiet residential neighborhood, which is a unique setting. The cabin was nice, and the beds were comfortable, though it didn't come with bedding. There was a fridge, toaster, kettle, plates, and cutlery, but no stove or oven. The park WiFi was poor from my cabin, number 26. The bathrooms were nice, with separate shower rooms, and the staff were very helpful.

The standout was the private sauna for two, which felt amazing after our hike to Holly Hut in Mount Taranaki. Staff were super friendly, gave us useful tips for the area, and even got the sauna ready for us. We stayed for one night in November 2025 and slept in our car. The pitches were spacious and separated by hedges, so we had plenty of privacy. The facilities were excellent and spotless, including two clean shower areas, a heated pool, and a large common room with lots of power outlets to charge devices. Free Wi-Fi worked perfectly throughout the campsite. Highly recommended!

We stayed two nights in the hired camper and really enjoyed it. It’s a lovely site with nice pitches, and the amenities were clean and well maintained. The facilities were very good. Highly recommended.
