The host was patient and very nice when we got lost trying to find the place. Do get clear directions beforehand, as it was a bit hard to locate. You can drive there, but the driveway is very narrow, so turning back out to the main street takes patience. Inside, the guest house was clean and well equipped for a short stay. There’s a living/dining room, a kitchen with basic things like a fridge, microwave oven, cooker hob, dishwasher, sink, pots, pans and utensils, plus a bathroom/toilet with a washing machine and a bedroom. The small backyard opens onto a shared pool and yard. A good option for two or three guests.

Ilans house is in a nice part of Auckland’s north shore. We enjoyed the beach and Piknik, the lovely breakfast café just around the corner in Castor Bay. The place felt cosy and had a good atmosphere, and the host was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed staying there for a couple of weeks during our time in Auckland.

We stayed for an extended period while renovating and had a great unit with everything we needed. They were very friendly and accommodating, and were willing to change the layout to suit us. Thank you very much.
