Harbour View Guesthouse

I was in town for a training course, and this guest house was nearby. I wouldn’t stay again. The towels and bedding smelled musty, as did the bathroom, and there was still public hair on the shower wall. It made me wonder if they wash the linen in hot water. There’s no air conditioning, and ants had taken over the dining table. Getting in also meant remembering a different code for the gate, front door, and bedroom. It was okay, but that’s about it.

We had a good stay for a reasonable price, with a good night’s sleep and lovely harbour views. We were in the family room, which worked for four: a double fold-out bed in the hall, another double in the room, and a private bathroom. Everything was tidy and very clean. The host was understanding when we arrived late and had a few late nights. Just be aware the driveway is quite steep, and let Annie know if you need a car space.

The property is on a tricky corner to reach from the road, and we had trouble getting access at first. A couple of phone calls sorted it out. Once inside, we found a comfortable bed, reasonably clean bathroom, and nice decor. Some parts of the property have beautiful views.

The bed was two singles pushed together, without even a double sheet to hold them in place. Horrible place. I’d never stay again. One star is all I can give, and I’d give less if I could.
