We only stayed one night, though we could easily have stayed longer. The place was peaceful, beautifully clean and comfortable, and the hosts made us feel welcome. Omarama hot tubs are very close, while the clay cliffs are a short drive away.

There are only a couple of rooms, so book ahead. The owners were friendly, and the room, toilet and kitchenette were spotless. It was spacious and well equipped too. BigSky Motel went beyond what we expected and has really raised the bar for motels in NZ. Highly recommended!

We're having a wonderful stay, and I'm still here as I write this. Omarama is a great halfway stop on our drive from Christchurch to Queenstown, with the surrounding area to explore. Big Sky might call itself a motel, but to me the service, facilities, room, location and convenience all feel five-star. The room is immaculate, with a well-equipped kitchenette and tea, coffee and milk ready for us. Each room has its own full bathroom and shower, which was a real bonus since other places we considered had shared bathrooms. The manager and staff have been warm and helpful throughout. Patrick even offered to dry our laundry and put it in our room so we could set off early to explore. That's going above and beyond. They don't have many rooms, so book early. I couldn't wait to leave a good review. Thank you!

I loved all the little extras, from makeup remover wipes and mints to the quality shampoo and body wash. The Wi-Fi is super fast, and there's a smart TV. The motel is clean, new and nicely updated, with lots of furniture and a kitchen stocked for cooking your own meals. Such good value for the rate and everything included. I'm glad I stayed and would recommend it or stay again. Book direct with the motel online.

I really like this place. The bathroom has geothermal heating, so it stays very warm in the cold season. The room is very clean and quiet, with a small kitchen where you can cook. Everything looks new. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
