We had a lovely five-night stay at The Bridge and felt at home in the apartment from the moment we walked in. The layout was comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The location in the Bay of Islands is fantastic, with the Fish + Chips shop and General Store only a few minutes away on foot. There’s steady ferry traffic, and the landing is right beside the house, so that takes a little getting used to. We came to see it as part of the setting that makes The Boathouse special. The car ferry runs right beside this beautiful apartment, which makes for great people watching. It’s peaceful, too, and set up to take in those breathtaking views. We’ll be back before long 🤗🤗🤗

I’ve stayed at the Boathouse several times and it’s still my favourite place to relax with my family. But when I tried to book again, the price had gone up a lot and there was a three-night minimum. I can’t afford it now, which makes me really sad. I’ll miss it dearly.

The room was cosy and lovely, with a great view across the water. You can fish off the deck, or jump in for a swim and climb back out using the ladder. It’s right next to the car ferry, and there’s a small group of shops less than 100 metres up the road with most things you might need. A coastal walk starts nearby and leads toward Paihai, which is only a 10 minite drive away. Excellent deal.

The views are priceless, and the place feels like such a unique stay. It was extremely comfortable and well appointed, too. Can’t wait to come back!
