The room was smaller than we’d expected, but I still really liked it, and for what we paid it felt absolutely worth it. It was very clean and had thoughtful touches like good coffee and tea. The view was incredible, one of the best in Queenstown to wake up to. Cis, the manager, was extremely kind. We checked in later than planned, and he waited for us and gave us a lovely welcome. He even helped with laundry, which wasn’t included. The one thing I’d change is housekeeping. It felt like they were rushing us out by 10:30 a.m., as though the room wouldn’t be cleaned otherwise. When we asked to leave at 11:30, half an hour later, they weren’t flexible and said no. On our last day, they also left our used coffee and tea cups unwashed. Apart from that, the service was excellent. Balmoral Lodge was a wonderful place to spend our days in Queenstown, and I’d recommend it every time. If I come back with my partner, I’d stay here again.

I was given a free upgrade and arrived very late at night to a warm, clean apartment with complimentary muffins and tea. The service was excellent, and they booked a taxi for my early checkout when I asked. The location has fantastic views, and it’s a pleasant 15-minute walk into town. The walk back is quite a workout because of the climb. There are also paths connecting to the Queenstown Hill walk.

We’ve just left Balmoral Lodge after three great nights. The rooms were spotless, the communal lounge was lovely, and the location worked well for us. Our host was friendly, gracious, and generous, and we were greeted by her dog Benji on arrival. The stay met all our expectations and offered more than we expected. Her years in hospitality clearly show.

We had an amazing time here in September 2025 and loved everything about our stay. The views from the room and pretty much everywhere around the lodge were stunning, and the service was exceptional. Our room was phenomenal too. We’ll definitely be back, 10/10.

The room and bathroom were immaculately clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The views may be the best in Queenstown, and town is within walking distance. We were treated exceptionally well by the hosts and wee fluffy Benji, and enjoyed the complimentary drinks and treats. Thank you, and hopefully we’ll see you again.
