The cozy lounge was especially nice when the fireplace was going, and staff switched on the heating at night. Even though my room was compact, it had good ventilation and I slept surprisingly well. It was very clean, with a comfortable mattress, warm duvet, two pillows and towels provided. The shower had strong pressure and steady hot water. Check-in was quick and easy, and the receptionist was polite, patient, and clear with the instructions. The rooms are on the small side, but you can walk to central Queenstown. Parking wasn’t a problem in mid-April. I used nearby street parking at first, then moved the car to the hostel lot on my last night. There are only three spaces, but it wasn’t hard to get one when it opened up. I enjoyed my four-night stay, and everything went smoothly. If I’m back in Queenstown, I’d consider staying here again. Thanks!

There’s free parking at the property and along the road, and the hostel is close to town. My private room was small but cozy, with a heater and towels. The hostel itself is nice, with a cute little living room. But it stayed very cold through the day, only warming up for a few evening hours when staff lit the wood-fired heater. That made it unpleasant to spend time outside my heated room, and the bathrooms were freezing too.

The kitchen is top drawer, the living area is spacious, and the property has cracking views. Check-in and check-out were very easy, and the owner is a top bloke who looked after us. The rooms were comfy and kept to a high standard. Most of all, the location is spot on, just a three-minute stroll into town. I’d highly recommend staying here!

The lodge manager was friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful. We had a great, relaxed Queenstown break at Alpine Lodge Backpackers. We rented the top-floor apartment for four days and three nights, and the rooms were clean with extremely comfortable beds. It’s in a great spot, just a two-minute walk to town and five minutes to the Gondola. 👍
