Coronation Lodge

The beds badly need replacing. The mattresses are worn out, with no support, and you sink into the middle. After two nights my back was wrecked. I tried putting a pillow under my hips on the second night, but it didn’t help. If you need a good bed, avoid this place. A comfortable bed is a key part of a hotel stay, and this one isn’t fit for purpose. The location is excellent, and the hotel was clean and warm, with friendly staff.

We really enjoyed staying at the coronation lodge. The location was great, the rooms were spotless, and the beds were very comfortable.

The only hassle was parking: the spaces are tight, and once the few spots are taken, you have to leave the car on the street. Otherwise, we had a great stay in the one-bedroom apartment for over a week and hated to leave. It had what we needed for a longer Queenstown holiday, and you can walk to pretty much everything. The washer and dryer came with free detergent, and the service was really good. She was always happy to help with towels or extra laundry detergent. I'd definitely recommend it.

Loved that Sky Sport was available, so I could keep up with the games over the weekend. The lodge was impressively clean, easily the best I've experienced among the hotels, motels, and resorts I've stayed in. It's right in the city centre, close enough to walk to the lake for an evening stroll before dinner or breakfast, and Queenstown gardens are across the road for a nice morning walk. Staff were warm whenever we saw them, from check-in to passing through reception. The place doesn't feel dated or run down like a lot of Queenstown accommodation. Uber was easy to get outside and Uber Eats delivered here. Such good value, and we'll book again when we're back in Queenstown.
