Hidden Lodge Queenstown

The room and lodge were just right, with lovely mountain and lake views. Wendy and David made us feel at home, and their tips for things to see and do helped us get so much out of the trip. They made it memorable. We’ll miss them, Coco and Enza, and would happily stay at the Hidden Lodge again on our next visit to Queenstown.

The nearby bus made getting into lively Queenstown easy, then the Hidden Lodge felt like a calm retreat. During our six-week trip around NZ, Wendy and Dave even went through the rest of our plans with us and suggested places to visit, stay, and explore. That help was invaluable, and they also gave us a lift into town twice when they were heading that way. The hosts, including Coco, were wonderful. We had a great stay in luxurious accommodation with lovely views, and breakfast cooked to order by a very skilled chef was excellent. Thanks, Wendy and Dave, for making it so special.

The hot tub, with local wine and cheese, made for a really special evening. We stayed at the Hidden Lodge on our honeymoon, and it was a lovely way to finish an incredible trip to NZ. Breakfast was among the best we had on holiday, with good attention to dietary needs, including gluten free. They even made us granola for our very early start. The bus stop nearby is handy, and the views are the kind that make you stop and look. We can’t recommend staying with Wendy and David enough. Thank you!

The care Wendy and David showed us is what I’ll remember most. We felt so welcome and looked after that leaving was genuinely hard, and we’re grateful for their kindness. Their advice on where to go and eat made our time in Queenstown better, and breakfast chats were a pleasure. Each morning’s made-to-order breakfast was delicious. The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. The setting has stunning views, feels peaceful and close to nature, yet works well as a base for exploring. We’d love to see them again.
