The construction directly in front of the hotel really changed the stay we had expected. Workers were right outside our window, conversations carried through, and standing up could make you visible to them. Even the glass by the soaking tub had to be frosted. It wasn't the peaceful, private lakefront experience we'd come for. The location is stunning, and the staff were attentive and genuinely tried to help. But we were shocked and disappointed to arrive and find full-scale construction there. The hotel said it was mentioned on the website and in the booking email, but the notice was buried and wasn't clear when we booked. Jessica, the Assistant Manager, did everything she could and kindly offered a full refund. Since it was a busy weekend and other hotels' lake-view rooms were sold out, we decided to stay. We appreciated the dinner credits and wine. I suggested the hotel make the construction notice much more obvious up front, so guests know what to expect. Hopefully management will do that. It's a beautiful location with great service, but check the construction situation carefully before booking if privacy or quiet views matter to you.

Breakfast at Nest was a highlight. We stayed several nights and tried different dishes each morning, and every one was fantastic. The view at Soak was under construction, so we couldn't take photos there, which was a bit of a shame. Even so, we had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.

We couldn't fault the hotel over our 6/7 day stay. We booked two rooms with help from the hotel directly, and both were in the main building with nice side views toward the town centre. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and well appointed. Breakfast each morning was excellent and high quality. The staff throughout the hotel were great, especially the breakfast crew. We had no trouble parking our hire car on the property each day after going out. The bar was a pleasant place to unwind with drinks and bar food, and its four long open heaters created a great atmosphere. We really enjoyed the whole experience.

A quiet, restful stop on our way to Queenstown. We loved the room, especially the comfy bed, great shower, sitting area, and little outdoor spot with a view of the bay. The construction barrier partly blocked that view, though. The staff were wonderful and attentive, and there was a cute fish and chips place next door. One small suggestion: a bathroom nightlight would be handy, so you don't have to turn on the main light and get blinded if you get up in the middle of the night.
