The huge bed was clean and really comfortable, and we had a great night's rest. Our room had everything we needed, including a TV that kept us entertained. The air pump helped in the cold, though it took about five minutes to start warming the room. The extra blanket was welcome. The bathroom was clean, with a powerful, very hot shower. There was a patch of a different colour on the wall, perhaps from DIY or an earlier mould issue. Melbourne lodge is close to the centre of Queenstown, just a short walk from the middle of town. The place suited us well for a night's sleep. The communal kitchen and lounge were there, though we didn't use them, and the other shared areas were clean and tidy. The room was a bit dated and could do with modernising and a more thorough clean. There was some mould around corners and trim, apparently from condensation during the extreme temperatures. It wasn't a huge issue, but it was noticeable. All in all, a good stay for our trip, and we'd book again.

The rooms are a little dated, but they're spacious and comfortable. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the stay. It was also handy to have laundry facilities for a small fee. The location is great, about an eight-minute walk into town. I'd happily stay again.

A good value stay, with helpful staff and a guest lounge overlooking the lake. Our room was modern, clean and well equipped, and parking was good. It's well located for walking into town. I'd recommend it.

We couldn't get a late checkout because the place was full, but the staff let us leave our luggage and even offered bathrooms and towels so we could freshen up before our flight. We really appreciated how helpful and friendly they were. The visitors' lounge was useful too, with a fireplace, kitchen facilities, a fridge for our provisions and a drinking water tap. Outstanding service.

The spacious rooms had a balcony, kettle and fridge. Check when booking that you have an en suite if you'd rather not share a communal bathroom. We had to ask reception for a couple of extra things, but they sorted them quickly. The on-site laundry was fast, convenient and affordable. For future guests, there is parking at the back of the property.
