Queenstown House Luxury Lakeside Apartments

The kitchenette was nice, and the bedroom at the back was away from street noise. But apartment 1 is at ground level, and the busy street outside had people coming and going, talking loudly, and walking past the entrance all the time. Even without our car in front, another parked car could have blocked the supposed lake view. We asked about moving upstairs, but the woman who answered said all rooms had the same view. Do they all have a car right outside the windows too? We booked what we thought was a luxury Lakeview apartment through first light travel company, then learned afterward that room assignment was first come, first served at the hotel. That policy seemed odd, especially as we'd planned the trip ten months ahead. This felt like a failure by either the agency or the hotel manager. Room 1 should only be for people they dislike, unless it's offered at a much, much lower price. We ended up driving to Glenorchy and trying to stay out until we were too tired to care about the traffic, noise and missing view.

Really clean rooms, lovely bedding and a comfortable bed. We'd come back. It was just very warm, and the AC provided didn't do much to cool the room.

The views of the Remarkables and the mountains around the lake were breathtaking, with the lake right outside. The apartments are spacious, with a modern equipped kitchen, a big comfortable bed, walk-in wardrobe and beautifully made, spotless bathrooms. Queenstown House is close to town and works well for all sorts of activities. My partner and I had one of the loveliest weeks of our lives, thanks in large part to the managers and staff, who went out of their way to make the stay special. Everyone was professional, helpful and lovely, especially the managers Sam and Paul. We'd definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

Apartment 3 was wonderful for the six nights my husband and I stayed. It was beautifully furnished, and I loved sitting on the balcony with coffee or wine and looking over the lake. Having laundry downstairs was handy too. The location is very convenient, about 300m from the wharf where the TSS Earnslaw docks. We walked into the main centre several times a day with no trouble. I'd absolutely come back.
