Queenstown Lakefront Dream

Getting back from the slopes to the spa pool was a real treat. The house has plenty of room for a big group, comfortable beds and nice furnishings, and it stays warm. We also loved the views over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables. It’s handy for the ski fields and the lakefront walking and cycling trail, with Queenstown about a 30-minute walk away. We had a fantastic time and would come back.

It felt like home from the first day, and the house had everything we needed. The lake and mountain views are amazing, and the place feels truly luxurious. We were also perfectly placed to walk to either Queenstown or Frankton. Couldn’t have picked a better base for our holiday.

The house was warm, clean and well supplied, with lovely lake views. We watched the sunrise toward the airport and occasionally heard planes, though the noise wasn’t intrusive. It sleeps eight across four bedrooms, one in a separate studio. There’s no internal access to the studio, so you’ll get wet going down there if it’s raining. The drying room downstairs was great for snow gear, and there was plenty of hot water. The washer is a slow front loader, but there’s a separate dryer, and clothes also dried quickly with just the dehumidifier. The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans, a Nespresso machine, a quick, easy-to-clean induction cooktop and a balcony BBQ. Games, movies and books made staying in on a rainy day easy. The linen, furniture and appliances were all good quality. It’s about five minutes to Queenstown CBD, the airport and Remarkables Park shopping area. Cardrona is roughly an hour away and the Remarkables ski area about 30 minutes. Convenient, but away from the town noise.

The spa pool was a hit with our boys, and we’d happily book this house again. It was really clean, well equipped and had awesome views across the lake. The location was excellent too.
