The Routeburn suite felt like a peaceful home away from home, and we hated leaving after what was easily our favourite three nights of our nine night trip. We kept buying dinner supplies or takeaways just so we could spend more time in the suite after a day out. Ingrid and the team at Stay thought of every detail, from the daily provisions to the luxury robes, heated bathroom floor, comfortable bed and pillows, and soundproofing that made the suite feel private. The breathtaking views were lovely to wake up to, and the suite was exceptionally clean and beautifully appointed. The property is beautifully landscaped and so well kept, with a little garden courtyard where you can sit and enjoy the beauty of Queenstown. Check in was extra cheerful thanks to the adorable twin cats and friendly black Labrador. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Great value for everything included and the level of service. Thank you, Ingrid and team, for making the last few days of our trip so enjoyable and memorable. We’ll definitely be back.
We loved our five days at this small resort and would return in an instant for that view and the wonderful staff. We booked the Tekapo Suite, and the lake and mountain outlook was remarkable. Ingrid was kind and quick to respond, and made sure breakfast met our dietary needs. The bed was made daily with beautiful sheets, and was comfortable even with my bad back. The bedroom was a little small, with barely any space beside the bed and tiny end tables, but the view made up for it. Custom blackout drapes throughout gave privacy and helped us sleep. The decor and gardens were beautiful, with an outdoor table and chairs. The bathroom was small too, though the bath products were lovely and the shower had good pressure. Town is a 15 minute walk, but there’s a steep hill coming back from town, so it may not work for someone with mobility issues. Sue
Ingrid and her team made me feel welcome from booking through to departure. My apartment was spacious, beautifully appointed and looked out over Lake Wakatipu. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the wharf, with the Frankton Track along the way for gorgeous views. Breakfast treats were topped up daily, including a sweet surprise like chocolates. One day there was a lovely bottle of Mumm waiting for me. I was going away for a few days, so Ingrid kindly kept it on ice until I got back and could enjoy it before leaving Queenstown. That was exceptional hospitality. I highly recommend Stays Queenstown and would absolutely stay here again if I return.
Our favourite hotel of three weeks travelling around New Zealand. The large room was comfortable and really well equipped, with a great range of breakfast food. From the private patio, the view was absolutely beautiful. The lake is just down the street, and downtown is a quick walk away. The owner was super friendly, and so was her dog. We hope to come back one day.
The views really are terrific, and the owners were friendly and accommodating. We arrived with high expectations from the earlier reviews, and the stay surpassed them. Everything was top notch, from the furnishings, decor and artwork to the fresh flowers, soaps, towels, linens, robes and kitchen supplies. The breakfast fixings were plentiful and high quality. The place was super clean, comfortable and relaxing, with extraordinary attention to detail. Highly recommend.
