Waoku Lodge

The location is stunning, with wide sea views from the deck and excellent surf just down the road. Raglan’s hip little town is only a few minutes’ drive away. We had great food and service: a three-course dinner featuring lots of local produce was delivered to the apartment, with options for one vegetarian and one carnivore, and a fresh breakfast basket arrived the next morning. The boutique two-bedroom Matangi apartment has a large deck with outdoor dining furniture and sun loungers, plus a private heated spa pool. Thank you for making our 10-year wedding anniversary so special. We’ll be back!

We loved it. The room was lovely, the cooking facilities were terrific, and the view over whale bay was beautiful. Breakfast food for three mornings was supplied on the first day. Over our three-day stay, we were left to enjoy our privacy, a first for us after staying in so many places. There was no waiting around for the room to be serviced. Great location and a great place to stay.

The gardens were even better than the great views, and everything was well maintained. The renovated attached home had a well-stocked mini fridge and Netflix access. It’s upscale lodging in a natural setting, with a patio, grill and outdoor hot tub, and you can have restaurant breakfast and dinner delivered to your suite. A wonderfully romantic spa setting, worth the spend for a night or two.

Sarah was a pleasure to deal with from the moment we arrived. Everything was as advertised and our needs were taken care of. The lodge sits in a private, beautiful spot overlooking the ocean, and the room was excellent, with the spa and other amenities all fine. I’ve read plenty of reviews and reckon some people just need to whinge about something. We had lamb shanks made for dinner that night, outstanding, and my wife and I had massages at the on-site spa on Sunday. It all made for a relaxing, beautiful stay. Can’t wait to come back to Raglan.
