Rotorua Motel

Steve and Sue, the owners, are warm, genuine people who made us feel welcome. We stayed in a comfortable, spacious one-bedroom unit on the southern edge of the Rotorua CBD. It was well equipped, with a king bed in a separate bedroom, two single beds in the living area, plus a bathroom, dining area, and kitchen. For a traditional, quality Kiwi motel experience, Rotorua Motel is worth recommending. Call to ask about the book-direct special price.

The owners were sweet with our daughter, making her a little bed, and they let us take pool towels on our day trip to the spring pools. Parking is free, which I’ve read nearby hotels charge for. The bathrooms are outdated, but clean. My husband and I booked this motel at the last minute for a one-night Rotorua trip after spending hours looking at bigger hotels with bad reviews and high prices. We took a chance on a cheap place and were surprised to find our room so clean and comfortable. We would gladly have stayed longer if we’d had time.

The room was spotless, and the owner was really helpful. There’s a short walk to a supermarket and bistro, and I’d stay again and recommend it. The room had plenty of space. I liked having a kitchenette in a separate, smaller room, and it had everything we needed.

We spent one night in a one-bedroom apartment with our two granddaughters. The single beds were king-size, and our bed was super comfortable. It may be a bit old, but it was so clean and comfortable that we couldn’t fault anything. The road traffic didn’t bother us, and the owner was very nice. Big thumbs up to the owners and cleaners. We’d definitely stay again. Thank you!
