Woodbury Farm

There isn't a sink in the room, so I had to fill the kettle in the bathroom, and the fridge was too small. A couch would have been handy for watching TV after meals, since the alternatives were the bed or dining chairs. There were so many pillows that you could sink a battleship, which was great for sitting up to watch TV, but at night the extras had nowhere to go except the floor. The room was spacious and clean. The thick, long drapes gave good privacy, though during the day I had to keep them closed because there were no nets to stop people looking in. You enter through the ranch slider, which also lets the dog wander in whenever it wants. I don't mind dogs, but I was startled when I turned around and found one had crept into my space. It also tried to jump on me as I was locking the door to leave, and it's not a small dog. The place isn't as quiet as you'd expect, since Mill Rd is busy even at night.

Katie is a wonderful host who checks in to see if you need anything. When we arrived late at night, it was lovely to find the room warm with the heater already on. The TV had picture problems, but after we told Katie, we had a brand new one that afternoon. We stayed three nights and had a great time. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast options were good, and everything was very clean. We'd certainly stay again.

I've returned twice since my first review, and both visits were just as good. When my 12yr son and I first stayed for five nights in Feb, we loved how peaceful and private it was. You get a country feel while still being minutes from city life. It's very clean and quiet, and I highly recommend it. Kate is a lovely hostess, and we'd definitely come back. My boy had a great time with their uber friendly dog Chase, enjoyed the ginger cat as a cat lover, chatted briefly with the sheep in the mornings, and popped over to say hello to the horses.

Touring cyclists will especially value the secure open space for tuning and servicing their bikes. We had a very comfortable four-day stay in the airy, light-filled living area at Woodbury Farm, a splendid, private and very secure B&B. Nearly an entire wall of glass opens onto a large, private deck shaded by trees, making the space feel even more open. Our host, Katie, was gracious and kind, and made sure our privacy and comfort needs were met.
