I wouldn’t stay here again. It was an average hotel, with a worn-out, poorly kept feel, and the cleanliness wasn’t great. The prices don’t seem right for the rooms. I had to pay to move because I couldn’t cope with the windowless room beside the pool. The replacement room was better, but I was still sleeping beneath a dusty, unpleasant light, as the photos show. The receptionist was nice, though my concern was the room. I left pretty early that morning.

January 2026. Room 28 had a fantastic lake and mountain view, and the location was super convenient. The place is dated but comfortable. The towels were replaced each of our three nights even though we hadn’t left them on the floor, which surprised me, since many motels have asked guests for years to leave towels on the floor if they need changing. The toilet cistern button was unreliable, and water could keep running instead of flushing properly until we learned to twist it slightly clockwise. After a day, we noticed the fridge wasn’t running. Not great in summer. The temperature had been set warmer, and it worked after I turned it cooler, though the setting was hard for an old lady like me to see. Maybe the previous guest had left it that way on purpose? I would have mentioned it to Gerard when we left, but we had to put the key in the box.

The location and views are fabulous, and the towels and sheets were clean. The rest felt tired, dated, and lackluster. The bed was incredibly stiff and solid, and there’s a lot that needs improving around the complex. The photos show mould, cobwebs, carpet pulling away from the floor with the spike strip exposed, broken tiles, and a really dirty area around the toilet. Noise can also be an issue, depending on your neighbours.

There was barely any shower pressure, and the water wasn’t hot. There was nowhere to wash dishes either, just a tiny bench with no sink or tap. The bedding had a burn hole. Calling it a lake view room felt like a bit of a stretch...

The smoke detector had been accidentally disabled and left in a kitchen drawer. Management should have all the necessary procedures in place before welcoming new customers. This raises health and safety concerns.
