Taupo All Seasons Holiday Park

We picked this Top ten for the facilities and the kids, and had a great time. There was a huge pool with a slide, a hotpool and private spapools, plus a trampoline in the park. The children and dog were welcome, the staff were lovely, our room was clean, and there was a games room too. We stayed to go to the whakapapa ski feilds, which were no more than about a 1hr 30 drive away. Prices seemed reasonable for a North Island Top ten. Shops are walkable, and there's a coffee shop and basic necessities on site. We'd recommend it and come again.

Kitchen Cabin No. 25 was modern, clean, and had everything we needed. The park was peaceful and easy to get around, with town close enough for convenience. We particularly liked both the heated thermal pool and the regular pool. Toilets and shared spaces were kept to a good standard as well. Comfortable stay, and we'd happily return.

We stayed on a typical sized non powered site, while family had two motel units that had recently been redone. The units looked great, had lots of room, and comfy beds. Staff were friendly and the facilities were awesome. We'd love to come back 😍

The staff were pleasant and the facilities were good, but the gritty brown mud dust blowing from the empty campsites upwind was awful. Dust whirlwinds, some as high as the 20ft trees, kept covering our car, gear, and tent. It got inside the tent and beneath the fly, coating us, our sleeping bags, pillows, electric fridge, and power bank, including the intake vents. We woke with gritty teeth and hacking coughs. As an asthmatic, I really wouldn't recommend tenting here. We moved to a different site after the first night and had the same issue. We used every towel we had, then borrowed two more from the office to try to block the dust under the fly. We could only cover three quarters of the tent on the windward side. It was physically distressing and uncomfortable, and sad to see our clean camping gear and car covered in mud dust. We couldn't cook, eat, relax with a drink, or hang wet things at our site. It might be fine if you're sealed inside a campervan, but it was extremely unhealthy for camping in a tent. We've stayed at other Top 10 camp grounds around this time of year and never had this problem. I still have the cough, though at least my teeth and eyes aren't gritty anymore.
