The shower was probably my favorite part, with loads of water and the best pressure. The bed was super comfortable, and the room was nice and big. Front desk staff were great, parking around back was easy, and the hotel is right in downtown Tauranga.

Mariah at the front desk was so kind and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable for our one-night stay. They even provide complimentary snacks and bottled water, which was a nice touch. Shops and restaurants are very close by, and I'd recommend the Sichuan restaurant across the road. I'd happily stay again.

When we finally got an update, they said the 2 p.m. check-in time was "just a guideline" and that the room didn't have to be ready until 10 p.m. That's ridiculous. We'd been told to wait 15-30 minutes because the room wasn't ready, which seemed reasonable at first. But after half an hour, they asked us to wait another 15-30 minutes, and no one had even called housekeeping to see whether it was being cleaned. The front desk acted as if the delay were our fault, and nobody apologized. I've stayed here before, but I wouldn't recommend it now.

The Tauranga Club reopened in the complex a little while ago, and now there's a full restaurant and bar with stunning views over the inner Tauranga harbour. The establishment is excellent and right in the center, truly exceptional.

We had a perfect view, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely and welcoming when we checked in. A great hotel for travelling with kids.
