Angel, Jay and the whole Quest team made our stay flawless. The place was modern, tasteful and squeaky clean, and the staff were warm, upbeat and really efficient. It makes a real difference when people seem to enjoy being there and doing their best for guests. Top-notch experience, I’d recommend it to anyone. Thanks, team, love your work 💐💜😁

Quest’s location worked perfectly for our event at Bay Oval, and everything else we needed was close by. The building is beautiful and modern, and the cleanliness was exceptional. Staff were friendly, approachable and easy to deal with from beginning to end. We had a great stay and couldn’t fault a thing. We’ll definitely be back.

The rooms were great, comfortable and very clean, and the location was good. There’s parking for $15 a night. The apartment-style setup is well equipped, with a fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer, pots, pans, utensils, and quality soaps. The breaks are what kept this from being a five-star stay. I understand staffing costs, but training housekeeping staff to use the PMS could let the front desk stay staffed during breaks. A sign saying the desk is unattended because someone is helping another guest is frustrating when housekeeping staff openly say they’re on break. For security, room lists shouldn’t be left on the trolley, especially when staff comments can be seen. Also, when housekeeping staff are on break, parking the trolley opposite the AC leaves too little room for guests with luggage. The shower dispensers are very hard to push, though that may be a product design issue. These break-time problems are about supervision and the GM could easily fix them.

Some team members showed real care, patience and professionalism, and clearly took responsibility for their work. That kind of human quality can’t come from systems alone. But the stay at Quest Mt Maunganui also felt very structured and driven by process, with little space for that care to come through consistently. The staff seem capable of offering more than the system lets them. Guests notice efficiency, but also authenticity, attention and a genuine welcome. When those depend on individual effort instead of being supported from above, there’s a missed opportunity. There’s a lot of value in this team. The question is whether the environment allows guests to feel it.
