The Beaumont Apartments

14Sep25 1851 I'm one of the apartment owners at The Beaumont. It's beautifully located, with the beach on the port side or the Mt Maunganui shops about an eleven-minute walk away. The marvellous hot pools are five minutes on foot, and Mt Maunganui, which you can walk up, is also five minutes away. Too much of a good thing!

Very good location if you want to hike Mount Mauao, with good clothing stores, restaurants, dairies and the beach close by. The one-bedroom apartment was clean, with a comfortable bed. But I don't agree with being asked to take out the rubbish and do the dishes before leaving. Guests pay to stay, and if they're expected to clean, they should be paid for it. There's also a 9pm cutoff for having guests over. The Wi-Fi kept cutting out and the signal was weak, even with a router in the closet, so I had to use my data. I was given two different keys without being told what the second one was for. I tried it on every door and it didn't work anywhere. I also wasn't sure how to open the outside door shown in picture number 3. Having a key for it would've helped.

Apartment 19 on the second floor has been nicely refurbished and has air con. The bed, though, was appalling. It was very low, not even up to my knee, and only a double. I ended up sleeping on the couch on the second night. The owner needs to replace it ASAP. Until the furniture is upgraded, these apartments can't be called luxury.

The staff were very friendly, and we had a great view from this clean, comfortable studio apartment. It was a bit over my usual budget, but felt well worth paying for. We had all the conveniences we needed around us, and I'll definitely consider coming back.
