We loved the lodge. Our Luxmore room was lovely, with amazing lake views, and the guest lounge and extra patio were great places to enjoy the sun and scenery. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent and all home cooked. We had an early start for the doubtful sounds cruise, and they packed a wonderful breakfast for us to take along. I’d seen comments about rooms lacking a fridge or tea and coffee, but the guest lounge has those facilities, plus fresh water and home baking, and is only four or five steps from the bedrooms. There’s a fridge guests can use there too, so it wasn’t a problem for us. Can’t recommend this lodge enough if you’re in the area.

The house is beautiful and its location is stunning. Sarah was a great host, and we enjoyed a good few nights. If I’m being very critical, the room was a little small, and it would’ve been nice to have a fridge and tea or coffee in the room.

Waking up to the breathtaking view from our room was a highlight of the trip. John and Sarah made the stay memorable with their warmth and attention to detail, and breakfast was fresh, delicious and just right to start the day. We had an amazing time at the lodge. If you want lovely surroundings and excellent hospitality, this is a great choice. Highly recommended!

After a long day, Sarah made us a lovely platter, which we enjoyed with that breathtaking view. She also packed a cute breakfast for our very early departure to Milford sound. The place was clean and homely, and the views were amazing. We had a great time, thanks to Sarah and John’s unreal service. John took time to give us lots of tips and recommendations for our trip. We can’t wait to come back, and will recommend it to all our friends.

The hosts are lovely, the breakfast delicious, and the rooms beautiful. This was probably the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in. It’s spacious, clean and extremely well decorated, less than a five-minute drive from Te Anau. The lake and surrounding mountains make for a breathtaking view. I highly recommend it!
