Dinner at Waitakere Ranges last Wednesday was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Our server was warm and attentive, and you could tell the chef puts love into every dish. The scenic views made it a really relaxing place to eat. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu! 🤗

I loved unwinding in the hot dry sauna and then having a swim in the pool. Every room has a balcony with breathtaking views. The rooms are generously sized, spotlessly clean, and so quiet, while the staff are warm, attentive, and helpful. The carefully maintained landscaped grounds add to the calm atmosphere. A real hidden gem for a relaxing getaway. Special thanks to the chef for the delicious food and beautiful presentation.

The forest setting and the beautiful night views of Auckland City made our Romance Package stay feel like a proper escape from the busy routine. We loved our room, the comfy bed, the food, and the lovely staff. There’s a pool, sauna, spa, restaurant, hiking tracks, a lookout, and free wifi. Some areas are dated, but I liked that the place has kept some of its history, especially in the lounge and bar, which had a 40s feel. We’ll definitely be back.

The room had a beautiful view, and despite being a little older with some bugs inside, I could still have enjoyed the stay. The drive in was a bit difficult, but the setting has a lot of potential. What brought my rating down to 2 stars was what happened on checkout morning. The fire alarm sounded at 6:40am and went on for about 15 minutes. It was later confirmed as a false alarm. It woke my whole family, and none of us could get back to sleep. A reasonable goodwill gesture, like a complimentary item or partial compensation, would have acknowledged the effect on our rest. Instead, we only got verbal apologies. That alone took my rating down to 3 stars. There was also a billing discrepancy. The listed charges were two dinners, 57 and 114, with the second amount shown as three sandwiches at 19 each, and two breakfasts at 60 each. That comes to 291 before the card surcharge. We were charged 295.69, plus the surcharge, for a total of 297.99. The total didn’t match the listed items, and there was no clear breakdown on the receipt. The unexplained checkout charges, the alarm, and how both problems were handled ultimately brought my rating down further.
