The shower is the main problem: the showerhead pressure is far too high, and when opened, the oversized shower door just barely hits the bathroom door. Both issues seem fixable. The toilet and sink are fine, and the rooms were clean with very comfortable bedding. Service was excellent, especially from the restaurant and front desk employees. It's a perfect location for hikers and skiers, and a gem for travelers with breakfast and dinner, a bar and jacuzzis. For supplies, try the nearby gas station, since National Park has no grocery stores.

We waited out the summer rain here and had a relaxing stay. The lounge was comfortable and quiet, and I unwound further in one of the two hot spas. The restaurant dinners and buffet breakfast were fresh and delicious. Staff were extremely helpful the whole time, and the woman at reception deserves a medal for her outstanding customer service!

The late check-in was simple and really convenient. The rooms were lovely, and breakfast was worth the extra cost, especially the great pancakes. We recommend the Tongariro package with transfers and a packed lunch, which made our day easy. It was a shame that staff seemed a little rude and unapproachable, though, because otherwise it was a nice hotel.

The restaurant was fantastic. I had the chicken korma and asked for cauliflower rice instead, and the chef was so accommodating. It was the tastiest food I've had in a long time. Thank you, chef 👨🍳 I was so happy to stay here. The room was warm and cozy, and I was greeted with a friendly smile.

The hotel was great value, and having a twin room made the stay comfortable and easy for my best friend and me. We loved the friendly atmosphere and delicious breakfast, a lovely way to start the day. It's also conveniently located about a 15-minute walk from the train station. A great choice for friends travelling together!
