The owners were lovely, and I’d stay here again next time I’m in Waipiata. I was riding the Otago Rail Trail and had an awesome stay at Tussock Lodge. Breakfast had plenty of tasty options and more than enough food. The beds were comfortable, and having an ensuite in every room gave us privacy. The air conditioning in the bedrooms and the TVs were nice extras. Thank you!

It’s a quiet spot within walking distance of the pub, which was handy for dinner after a day on the bikes. The property is looking a little tired, but it had everything we needed. When we called Mark because the coffee machine wasn’t working, he came straight over. Crisis averted.

A bike shed would make this purpose-built accommodation better, especially for charging bikes and keeping the seat dry. Even so, the fruit, eggs, yoghurt, and coffee machine were great, and it’s easy to get pies at the Waipiata pub. A great place to stay.

We loved the evening meal at the pub, and Tussock Lodge was a warm, comfortable place to sleep. The breakfast selection was excellent too. Thanks so much, we’re looking forward to coming back.

Everything was thought through at this beautiful location, and the lodge was perfectly equipped and spotless. After a rainy afternoon on the rail trail, having a washing machine and dryer available was especially handy. It’s also a good option for a group.
