Archway Motel & Chalets

Jack, the manager, went out of his way to send me useful places to visit around Wanaka, and Janice was helpful and accommodating too. Our room felt almost brand new, was very spacious and spotless, so thanks to the cleaning staff. We also took the scenic route from Te Anau to Wanaka. It was breathtaking, though I’d recommend doing it before dark because it can be challenging. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place.

The chalet’s wooden décor gave it a warm, cosy feel, and the setup suited the three of us well: two comfortable bedrooms, a family area and a handy kitchen. It’s only a short walk to the lake, which adds to the peaceful feel of the location. Check-in was easy, and the welcoming, helpful staff made us feel at home. We loved staying here.

We had to head to Queenstown the next day, so I only wish we’d had longer at Archway Motels and Chalets in Wanaka. Our room was in the new building, clean and cosy, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a modern bathroom and good facilities. Restaurants, supermarkets and nice walking spots were all close by. I called around noon on check-in day about arriving late. They sent simple after-hours instructions and set aside a room even though I hadn’t paid yet, as we’d booked through Agoda. We arrived around 8pm, before reception closed at 8:30, and Jacqui greeted us. She was so kind and helpful, chatted with us and shared local places to eat and explore. She was just as warm the next morning, and said we could leave our car in an on-site parking spot if we wanted to look around before heading off. Great location, comfort and hospitality.

After a long drive, having parking right there was a real help. I stayed one night at Archway Motels & Chalets in Wanaka, and the room was spotless and welcoming. Check-in and check-out were both easy. It’s a short walk to the lake, so I could enjoy the views and take a quiet morning stroll. The stay was comfortable and peaceful, and I’d choose it again next time I’m in town.
