Aspiring Lodge Motel

Great location and it does provide a roof over your head, but that’s about all I can say for it. They’ve added flowers and decorative mirrors, yet what we needed was cleaner basics: sheets and towels without stains, and a shower in a tub that wasn’t cracked. The place needs simplifying and a proper clean. Please throw out the old linen.

The motel felt safe, and the bed was cosy and comfortable. It’s well placed for walking to the city centre. The TV was a letdown, though. I followed the instructions several times and still couldn’t get it working. For the price, it’s a decent, comfortable stay if you don’t care much about the extras.

The staff were amazing, and I had a really pleasant stay. Lovely big room and a great location. I enjoyed it, thank you.

Dear Aspiring Lodge Management, I understand the check-in policy about strong food smells in the units. Still, I was disappointed by how my stay went. When I arrived, there was quite an unpleasant smell from some waste coming from a neighbouring unit. I didn’t complain about it at the time, but later a guest nearby complained about the simple meal I made. I cooked chicken-flavoured instant noodles and a few Pams brand chicken wings from the local shop. The unit has no cooker hood, so I kept the kitchen window fully open while cooking. Since the rooms have basic cooking facilities, it seems unreasonable to expect there to be no food smells at all. If that’s the expectation, perhaps the in-room kitchens should be reconsidered. I appreciated the location and amenities, but this experience has put me off returning to Aspiring Lodge Motel.
