The view from our unit at Wanaka view motel was amazing to enjoy over coffee, and the location is superb, so close to the center of Wanaka. We were there with three mates for Burt Munro in Feb, and after a rough start, most likely on my part, the host was amazing. The room was awesome, and it was a nice stroll to dinner after a full day on bikes. I'd highly recommend staying there and will book again in a heartbeat when I come back with my wife. Cheers.

The chalet's lake and mountain views were lovely, and we walked almost everywhere, including to the lakefront, town centre shops, cafes, and restaurants. Its central location meant we could enjoy the scenery without planning around a car. On our family bike day around the lake, it was also easy to pop back to the motel for a quick break or nature-call stop. We stayed as two adults and two kids in the three-bedroom chalet, which was roomy for us and would likely fit six comfortably. The full kitchen made preparing our own meals much easier and more relaxed than relying on restaurants. A great setup for a family getaway, with a useful kitchen, spacious chalet, and lovely views.

This is the best place I've stayed in New Zealand. It felt like the people running it would be happy living there themselves. The lake and shops are just a short walk away. The one thing that could improve the place is fly screens to keep insects out, though I haven't seen those at other places either.

It was quiet and ideally placed, just a short walk to town and the lake. The unit felt thoughtfully set up and well maintained, and the exceptional cleanliness really made a difference. Wanaka View Motel is clearly cared for and well run. I'd happily stay again and recommend it to anyone heading to Wanaka.

Pip gave us great local suggestions, including a drive to the Blue Pools and a hike up Mt. Iron. Both were incredible, and we loved her dining tip for Hook. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the town center, and from our room we could look across the park to beautiful Lake Wanaka. We had booked a studio expecting a view, but it didn't have one, so the lovely owner upgraded us to a larger room with stunning views. Thanks so much, Pip. We can't wait to come back next year!
