The pool was good, but the spas weren't really operating. They were just hot water, with no bubbles. The location was fine, and we managed to get an extra hour at checkout, but it would've cost $200 for that hour, which is way overpriced. We couldn't get an early check-in either. I'm not sure whether booking through booking.com meant we got one of the worst rooms. There were no fly screens on the doors, so the room felt stuffy, and there was no air conditioning. The curtains were stained and damaged, the floors badly scuffed, and the fridge and freezer were banged up. The kitchen doors didn't match, the couches looked old, and the walls were bare. It needs fresh paint and updated furniture. The TV was old and couldn't access Netflix or other streaming services. We've stayed in lots of places around NZ on this trip and almost all have been lovely. This one cost more, so I expected more, and I'm pretty disappointed. At least we're only here for one night.

We used it as a base for walks nearby, and the location worked well. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We especially enjoyed the hot pools on a cloudy, rainy day, though robes would've been nice for using the pool area. The service deserves a mention too: they upgraded us because of a booking mistake in the system. I'd definitely recommend it.

The WiFi is awful, constantly dropping and painfully slow. If you need internet for your family or have to work on your business during vacation, I'd stay somewhere else. If you'd rather nobody could reach you, this place is perfect. It's a nice spot with lovely rooms, good facilities, and a great location. The restaurant was very ordinary, nothing special.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was great, just a few minutes from Lake Wanaka and the famous tree. We had a large, modern room with a balcony, plus a parking space right outside the accommodation.

There are plenty of positives here, but we were turned away from Jacobs Grill at 6:45 pm on Friday, with only three tables operating. We went in for dinner on our second night and were told it was fully booked because a group was arriving for a buffet. That was extremely disappointing. I’d been past during the day and was at reception twice, but there was no sign or mention to warn residents. A simple notice would've let us make other plans for Friday night.
