We paid $146.00 for two people. The studio had a double bed, a single bed, a toilet and a shower, and was about a five minute drive from the city centre. There was a small kitchen with an oven, microwave and fridge, plus a small bottle of milk on arrival. It also had a kettle, tea, coffee and kitchen utensils. Towels, hand towels and face cloths were supplied. The room was very clean.

The unit was tidy and well maintained, though a bit dated. We stayed one night and were happy with the price and location, and will stay again 👍👍. It got warm once we figured out the heat pump, though I wish there’d been an electric blanket. We only spotted the tea towel in the bathroom as we were leaving, which was odd 🤣.

The room was clean but dated. The double bed made us roll together, and the single bed was hard. A room should let you rest and get ready for the next day of travel, and this one didn’t.

The room at Astral Motel 45 Somme Parade, Whanganui was roomy and comfortable, and the amenities were excellent. The setting felt welcoming, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. Check-in and check-out were both easy and handled professionally. One of my best stays, and I highly recommend it.
