Fiesta Court Motel

We needed somewhere central that accepted dogs, and this place worked well for that. It is a bit run down, and there was a lot of dog poo near the front. One thing that would help is providing dish liquid, a dish cloth, and a tea towel. We didn’t like having to leave dirty dishes.

We were absolutely disgusted by the standard of this motel. We’d booked three nights online at $173 per night, and cancelling would have meant losing that money. Unit 6 looked nothing like the photos on the website or Booking.com. The room was musty, there was mould in the corners of the window sills, and the couch springs were clearly past their use by date. The toilet door was very dirty below the handle, the towels needed a good airing, and there were obvious scratch marks on the bedroom door, probably from dogs, since this is a pet friendly motel. This was by far the worst motel we’ve stayed in anywhere in NZ.

Good service, clean rooms, and friendly owners and staff. A very good place to stay.

I was unwell after needing hospital treatment, and the proprietor kindly drove me to the bus station the next day so I could get back to Palmerston North. Excellent service. I’ll be back.
