The owner was lovely at reception and even opened early the next morning so we could use the lift to get our luggage to the bottom level before an early departure. There are paid washing machines and dryers if you need them, and secure parking around the back was a bonus. The motel is well placed just off the main street, and the room was good with a modern bathroom. For the price, it was reasonable, but we had a poor night’s sleep. The mattress was very soft and uncomfortable, and the windows struggled against the wind. We had a corner room on a really windy night, and the closed windows banged all night from both sides. We only stayed one night, so it was acceptable, and maybe it was just an unusually windy night.

Sheila’s approach is to treat guests the way she’d want others to treat her children when they’re travelling, and she really made us feel cared for. I was lucky to stay at her awesome hotel. She even helped with my trouser sewing by lending me thread and a needle, and she had all the colours. She upgraded us to the penthouse without us asking. It may be the best hotel room I’ve stayed in, with loads of space, a full kitchen and big fridge, great views across Wellington from a spacious balcony, and a comfy bed. She also saved us by finding a way to park our rental car in the hotel yard during our 10-day trip to the South Island, when Wellington airport parking was full. If you’re looking at hotels in Wellington, book here. Thank you, Sheila, for hosting us and taking such good care of us 🤗🥰🙂❤️!

We’re so glad we chose this place. The room was cleaner and more modern than we expected, with newer carpet, a great kitchen and a really nice bathroom. The double beds were so comfortable, a huge bonus for two people with sore bodies. The accommodation was clean and the staff friendly. There are plenty of eateries within walking distance, and we heard no street noise. The floodlights were too bright at night, though, shining in around the curtains. That was our only issue. Having a carpark included with the booking was one of the selling points, and the price and location were great. If we’re lucky enough to attend WOW again, we’ll definitely stay here.

The hostess gave us such a warm welcome, even though we were only there for one night. She took time to write down lots of tips for our Tongariro trip the next day, and I hope she manages to crack the Mirror version of Rubiss Cube. We were in awe of how far she’d got! It’s an easy five out of five: great location, free secure parking and an excellent price for what you get. Just excellent service.

The staff were outstanding and went out of their way to help, even finding me a charger when I’d forgotten mine. I was impressed by how modern the room felt, and it was very clean, with a great bathroom and a wall heater that was just right for the chilly night. Free secure parking was a big bonus, and Cuba Street is only a short walk away. I stayed one night and would definitely come back.
