The shower dripped all night, making it hard to sleep, and the extra bed they made up was so uncomfortable I wouldn’t expect a toddler to sleep on it. The stay was disappointing from start to finish. We’d arranged by email at booking to drop our bags early, but the man we spoke to was extremely rude. He complained that we’d woken him at 7:30am, pointed to a sign saying they weren’t open, and when I mentioned the approved bag drop, said it “must have been my wife in a grump.” Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. We were also overcharged, with an extra payment taken from my Visa card without permission. It was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The owner clearly doesn’t enjoy the job and isn’t suited to dealing with guests. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We booked months ahead. During the week of our booking, I called to ask about nearby train and bus services, but was spoken to rudely and hung up on. They also charged us five days before the booking, even though it said no prepayment was due until arrival on the booking date. When I called and spoke to the manager, he abused me, swore at me, and said I could find somewhere else if I didn’t like his rudeness. He said he’d cancel because I wouldn’t pay extra charges. Don’t stay here if you don’t want unexpected charges before arrival, abuse, swearing, and horrible names.

The manager was passive-aggressive when I simply asked him for a few things. The room also smelled of something I couldn’t identify.

The manager went out of his way to help us when we had car trouble, and the location was great, just a short walk from town. Parking wasn’t a problem, and the rooms were clean. I’d gladly stay here again.
