The Terrace Villa Serviced Apartments

The Terrace is uphill from Wellington CBD, so expect sloping footpaths or plenty of stairs on the way back from town, for example via Charles Street. Once you're there, the apartment makes a comfortable base for exploring. Mine was a spacious one-bedroom place at 202 The Terrace, with a balcony, fully equipped kitchen, and laundry. All the attractions and harbour were within walking distance, and it was a nice place to relax after a day out. Terrace Villas Serviced Apartments has several properties along The Terrace. The front office team, Gavin and Duane, were friendly and quick to help with the booking and any questions. I'd recommend booking directly for the best deals.

At 202 terrace I had a self-contained apartment with high ceilings, and even got a car park. The staff were really friendly, and I could walk to everything in the city. I took the shortcut down and back up the 143 steps to Dixon street. Who needs the easy route? After a few beers, I still did it. Phew!

We stayed for a month and were sorry to leave. The green park view from the back balcony, right in the middle of the CBD, and the sound of cicadas are things I still miss. The apartment was a clean, homely, practical two-bedroom unit with one bathroom, a kitchen, living area, and a large deck facing greenery. We chose it over a hotel and weren't disappointed. It had everything we needed: electric heating, bedding, hair dryer, kitchenware, crockery, towels and tea towels, tea, coffee, shampoo, soap, smart TV, good Wi-Fi, comfy beds and couches, washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher. Friendly, polite staff clean and change the bedding weekly. Duane, Gavin, and the Terrace Villa team were excellent and efficient. One call to the front desk and they'd come to the door quickly if they weren't busy; otherwise, they handled questions within the day. The supermarket, yoga, restaurants, cafes, Cuba St, shops, city centre, and doctor were about a 10-minute walk away. As a seasoned traveller, I really couldn't fault the place. Visiting film crews and diplomats stay here for longer Wellington visits, which doesn't surprise me. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it.

Our company sends people to Wellington most months, and Terrace Villas has proved the most practical place for us. The apartments are comfortable and spacious, making it easy to work from there.
