The room and bedding seemed clean, and the bed was comfortable. That was the only positive for me. The building has an earthquake rating of 15%, but that wasn’t mentioned in its online description. We only saw the sign on the door after arriving, when it was too late to cancel and find somewhere else. I find it unacceptable not to warn people that staying in a building could pose a deadly risk in a major earthquake. We had a cheap standard queen room. It was very small, with old, poor quality walls, carpet, windows, and bathroom surfaces. There was no WiFi password, so we didn’t feel comfortable using the network because of the security risk. The location is a handy distance from the CBD, but on the outskirts. There were several disturbed people on the streets after dark. That’s not unusual for the CBD, but this area felt more remote and quiet, which made it more concerning. Don’t waste your money here. Spend a bit more somewhere else.

The hotel is centrally located, about a five minute walk to Cuba Street and ten minutes to Lambton Quay. Our room was a good size and clean at check-in, with a clean washroom. It had the necessary amenities, including an iron, hairdryer, tea supplies, fridge, and TV, and everything worked. I’d highly recommend it and would stay here again when in Wellington. Parking is limited and costs 25NZD per day.

The price was good, and the staff tried to help with the parking, but sorting it out was a mess. You have to reserve a space ahead for $24 a night, and I couldn't find cheaper parking nearby. The place was clean, and the location is alright, about a 15 minute walk to the center. Cold air came through the windows, and the shower pressure was so weak that washing long hair was difficult.

We got a great deal and paid next to nothing, which is unusual for a CBD stay. The hotel is a bit dated, but both beds were really comfortable, the rooms were a decent size, and the bathrooms and showers were great. We stayed two separate nights, first in a double room, then got a free upgrade to a king room on our second visit. Front of house were lovely and very accommodating. Parking was easy too, with an extra $20 for a decent, safe spot right out the front. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Wellington.

The reception staff were nice, but the room was awful. There was no view, the TV didn’t work, and there were no kitchen utensils apart from one teaspoon. The wifi was a joke, and when I asked to have the sheets changed, they ignored me. Not worth the money. Stay somewhere else.
