We had plenty of space for our family of five in the Balcony Suite, and the kitchen was equipped well enough for us to cater for ourselves. The patio was a lovely spot for a glass of wine, and the kids had fun on the trampoline in the front yard. It’s a charming old house with a wonderful view across Wellington Harbour. The hosts also left a binder full of useful tips about places to visit and eat. We’d happily stay again.

The place was dirty, and the mattress topper had brown stains on it. Maybe it was body sweat, or who knows what else. The owner wanted to go over our other complaints too, but we had an appointment. That night, after we’d complained, they kept banging and stomping around upstairs until 1:15am. They live above the apartments. All that hospitality cost us $200 a night. I’d look elsewhere.

We stayed in the studio in April 2016 and loved it. I tried to book it again this year, but it was occupied, darn it. The owner was as accommodating as anyone could be. It’s quiet, we slept really well, the decor is great, and there’s parking in a fantastic location. The place isn’t huge, but it’s good value. Just go for it!

Lovely house, though it’s right in the middle of a hill. There are a lot of steps to climb with your suitcase.
